Leadership CoachingCoaching is deeply reflective, helping leaders better understand themselves, what drives them, and how that impacts them as a leader. Through the Leadership Coaching experience, clients unlock new insights about behaviors, motivations, and thought patterns. This enables them to bring more intentionality and choice to their leadership practices and habits - often leading to greater clarity, balance, fulfillment, confidence, and energy.
My approach to coaching centers on the belief that each of my clients has the wisdom they need within themselves. As a coach, my job is to create a safe environment to tap into that wisdom through structured exploration, observation, and provocations that allow leaders to gain new perspective on themselves and their situation. Building on client-defined goals and incorporating a range of coaching modalities, I partner with my clients to experiment with new ways of being and doing that are aligned with their goals and aspirations as a leader. Each coaching relationship begins with an initial engagement of three months, which includes a structured goal-setting and intake process, biweekly coaching sessions, and ongoing support for independent reflection and action. This initial engagement is designed to provide actionable and sustainable change within a period of focused effort and attention. Ongoing support is available on a month-by-month basis after an initial engagement. |
Executive Support & AdvisingLeadership can be lonely and isolating, without a lot of safe spaces to share concerns and talk through thorny board, staff, and strategic issues. In an advisory role, I serve as a confidential sounding board and thought partner to my CEO and ED clients as they work through complex organizational challenges and transitions, including the unique dynamics of reporting to a board of directors.
Clients who engage me for Executive Support & Advising as a part of a coaching relationship value the opportunity to engage a peer to think through an issue alongside them, offering reflections and feedback on the issues they are facing within the context of a safe and fully confidential conversation. In Executive Support & Advising engagements, I move fluidly between coaching and advising modes, tapping into my experience as a nonprofit CEO; drawing on direct experience navigating issues with boards, teams, strategy, and change; and leveraging my years of professional focus on nonprofit boards and governance. Potential advising topics include (but are not limited to):
*Assessment services for leadership teams interested in deepening their understanding of each other's motivations and work styles are available on a consultative basis, separate from coaching and advising packages. |
