My Approach to Coaching
- I approach each coaching relationship with the assumption that my client is the expert – that they are whole, wise, and highly knowledgeable about the nature of their own personal and professional development.
- As a coach, my primary role is to draw out the wisdom and insight within my clients through inquiry, curiosity, gentle provocations, and challenges that invite them to think deeply about the leader they are and seek to be.
- I work primarily with nonprofit executive directors and CEOs, but am also open to working with other leaders operating at a leadership peak or preparing to step into a top executive role.
- I coach the whole person. My coaching is centered on my clients' experiences of themselves as a leader, but this includes all of the ways that "life outside of work" is impacting - and is impacted by - their leadership role.
- I serve as a coach and abide by the International Coaching Federation's Code of Ethics. My role as a coach is distinct from conversations or relationships one might have with another professional, such as a trainer, consultant, or therapist.
Could We Be a Good Fit?
Finding a coach is all about finding the right fit.
My clients are:
My clients are:
- Motivated social change leaders who are focused on bringing greater intentionality to their leadership through focused engagement with a coach.
- Curious about themselves and their leadership, and willing to play with new ideas and ways of being in service to their leadership goals and priorities.
- Open to growth and exploration, including a willingness to be vulnerable and open about the challenges and opportunities they are facing as a leader.
- Forward-focused in their pursuit of leadership growth that enables them to be as effective as possible as they create positive change within their organizations and the world.
- Committed to the coaching relationship and are "opting in" to the experience of coaching. This includes a commitment to being fully present and engaged in each coaching session. Generally, my clients have self-identified the value of coaching (as opposed to having it recommended or required of them by others).
