In my role as CEO of BoardSource, I had the opportunity to speak and write about my perspectives on social sector leadership. Some of my most meaningful contributions to the field include:

• The Four Principles of Purpose-Driven Board Leadership: An article that continues to inform conversations about the future of board leadership and governance, this piece in Stanford Social Innovation Review reflects my thinking about how board leadership in the nonprofit sector needs to evolve to ensure that organizations are led in a way that serves their social good purpose.
• ​Igniting Leadership for Power, Purpose, and Impact: One of my most significant speeches was at the 2017 BoardSource Leadership Forum, which was - in some ways - a manifesto on them importance of values-driven leadership in a context where long-held social norms and beliefs were being called into question. The full speech is available in video and transcript from Nonprofit Quarterly.
• A Moment to Change: After the murder of George Floyd in May of 2020, I wrote a piece for the BoardSource blog reflecting on what this racial reckoning should mean for nonprofit boards.
